Improving Circulation and Managing Body Temperature with Essential Oils

(NOTE: Fun book by the way)

Improving Circulation and Managing Body Temperature

Good circulation, keeping oxygen-rich blood flowing throughout your tissues, is critical to staying healthy. Essential oils can be very helpful when you need to increase your circulation, cool down, or heat up your body temperature. Several oils are good for balancing temperatures either rising or lowering.

Circulation
> Add clove oil to a damp washcloth and apply to your forehead and temples to increase circulation

> Massage cypress oil into your arms and legs, moving toward the heart, to help regulate blood flow and circulation, also rub 1-2 drops directly over the heart
> Place 2 drops of Orange oil and 5 drops of Marjoram oil in a warm bath to keep sinuses clear and improve circulation

Cooling
> Massage 1-2 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata oil into temples to help ease the symptoms associated with fevers, migraines and sinus infections.
> Rub 4-5 drops of Peppermint oil -- diluted to 50%-- on temples, neck, shoulders and ears to relieve heat exhaustion
> Dilute 2-3 drops of Peppermint oil to 50% and apply gently to children's spine or neck to alleviate rising body temperatures from a hot summer day to oncoming illness.
> Sweet Basil can also be used topically to cool the body or skin when faced with a sunburn or other inflammation.

Warming
> Dilute to 20% Cinnamon oil and 80% carrier oil and rub over the heart, into the soles of the feet, or around the neck to increase your body temperature (great for over exposure to extreme winter weather cold)
